Project subpage

The project’s aim is to promote local employment related to airport economy by introducing novel, innovative services: by this, the project wishes to help local residents find job opportunities closer to their homes and fitting their actual skills and qualifications, i.e., to improve their position on the job market. As a means, the project creates the opportunity for constant learning and development by offering cutting-edge educational technology and various courses to local residents, in line with equality and equal opportunity principles.

As the main success of the project, a training coordination office was created by refurbishing and transforming the first floor of a municipality-owned building to a training facility suitable for up to 45 persons, equipped with Samsung’s Smart School interactive educational technology. Throughout the project, the office hosted various competency development (e.g., IT skills, leadership competencies, project management, conflict and stress management, client management) and professional (e.g., forklift driver) trainings, based on and developed via needs assessment and various surveys. Participants could apply for the courses online, at tud18.hu.

During the project, a Local Labour Committee was established as a consulting board and an interorganisational consultation forum to guarantee the long-term cooperation between partners and the sustainability of the project’s results.

As a result of the Norwegian-Hungarian cooperation, one Hungarian and two Norwegian study visits were organised. In addition, the Norwegian experts held a two-days innovation training in January 2017 for Hungarian participants working in the public sector. The fruitful cooperation developed throughout the project and the vivid exchange of experiences happened mainly in areas such as lifelong learning and gender equality, best practices of local employment offices in helping job seekers, and HR policies of the two airports.
