Objective of the project: The development of a diaphragm wall building machine that provides significant advantages in terms of application in the treatment of environmental disasters and average-like cases of pollution, preventing greater territorial contamination. The technology is characterised by a short period of intervention, thereby significantly decreasing environmental load at the site both directly and indirectly. The diaphragm wall building machine is built up of two well distinguishable, but closely linked units. The pulling unit, with the help of a winch, pulls the member with the slit that contains the adapter to be developed, with the help of which the HDPE watertight diaphragm wall is inserted. A further advantage of the equipment is a low harmful emission technological process (no significant preparatory and subsequent work phases), and its applicability in areas of any morphological feature.

Project result: the construction of a diaphragm wall building machine, whose predictable and quick nature of application are significantly valuable features of its utility. The intervention time considered for relief and remediation operations of environmental average and other contaminated areas has been significantly decreased by introducing this technology.

The diaphragm wall, resulting from its material, is absolutely watertight, as the slit will contain a layer of HDPE film, localising the surrounded area from the environment. Therefore influence can be practised over the transport processes of the subsurface medium and the intervention possibilities into the contaminated space within the localisation area.
